TORONTO — Star Wars fans celebrated Friday their first official look at the upcoming reboot, The Force Awakens.
The teaser trailer shows only a few quick scenes from the highly-anticipated movie, which only recently wrapped principal photography.
The movie, directed by J.J. Abrams, is due in cinemas in December 2015.
Set 30 years after Star Wars: Episode VI – The Return of the Jedi, it features original cast members Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C3PO) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca).
New additions to the cast include Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong’o, Adam Driver and John Boyega.
Judging by the sneak peek released Friday, fans can also expect exciting space battles, droids and those familiar light sabers.
