(CBS) — In the South Loop, the demand far exceeds the supply of T-shirts honoring the Jackie Robinson West little league team being sold to help defray travel costs for the team, the first to make the Little League World Series from Chicago in 31 years.
WBBM’s John Cody reports a steady stream of would-be customers left Dick’s Sporting Goods on Roosevelt after the store sold out of Jackie Robinson West T-shirts. Another 400 are expected on Thursday.
“In these days and times in which we live, when you find young people who are dedicated, that will go the extra mile, it’s worth buying their T-shirts,” said Charlotte Mitchell.
