Although his fighting career may be over, we now have proof of former UFC welterweight champion [autotag]Georges St-Pierre[/autotag]’s burgeoning film career.
Marvel today released photos from its upcoming film, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” which hits theaters in April.
In the superhero flick, St-Pierre plays Batroc the Leaper, one of the film’s villains. The character first appeared in comic books in 1966. The mercenary is a master of savate, a French form of kickboxing.
St-Pierre (25-2 MMA, 19-2 UFC) shot his role in the film in mid-2013, months before a November win over Johny Hendricks. The French-Canadian later announced an indefinite leave from the sport, and a return to the UFC now appears unlikely.
“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” also stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie. It’s the first major Hollywood role for St-Pierre, who’s previously appeared in some smaller action movies.
