Though Vince Vaughn is known for his comedic roles, he shows a more serious side in “Delivery Man,” as cast and crew acknowledged in the Nov. 3 premiere at the El Capitan in Los Angeles.

Andre Rouleau, one of the producers of the film, a remake of French-Canadian 2011 movie “Starbuck,” said that Steven Spielberg was the one who suggested Vaughn for the role as a man who finds out he’s fathered 533 children after donating profusely to a sperm bank years ago. Upon their first meeting, Rouleau knew he was the one to go with.

“The Vince that we met versus the ‘Swingers’ Vince is a different guy,” he explained. “He’s an adult, very mature. Not fast-talking Vince. He has children. This performance, I think, is more emotional, deeper, than he’s ever done.”
